Rich Green Lawns started naturally, without a business plan, investors, or flashy marketing.
After being overlooked multiple times at a national lawn care company, founder Richard made the difficult decision to leave the industry altogether. But his former clients noticed immediately. They missed his attention to detail, personal service, and genuine care for their lawns.
So, they did what people used to do back then, they looked him up in the Yellow Pages and asked if he would still take care of their lawns.
At night. On weekends. While raising a young family and juggling several jobs.
Richard said yes.
Word of mouth spread quickly across neighborhoods in Monmouth and Ocean Counties, and what began as side work steadily grew into something bigger. In 1986, Rich Green Lawns became official, and the foundation was set for four decades of trusted, local lawn care.
